What SolarSearch processes

SolarSearch displays public parcel information from government and mapping sources. When a signed-in approved representative presses Save changes, SolarSearch stores the public parcel snapshot and their door-to-engineering checklist under that representative's account. It does not store a homeowner's utility bill, utility account number, or utility login credentials.

Google Solar API

When an approved representative manually requests roof insights, SolarSearch sends the selected building coordinates to Google Maps Platform's Solar API. The private API credential is kept on the server. SolarSearch does not send the homeowner's name or utility information to the Solar API.

Customer energy information

The current pilot does not collect utility bills, call utilities, or receive account data. If SolarSearch later introduces a homeowner-authorized bill upload or a customer-approved utility-data connection, it will publish the applicable data handling, retention, and access terms before that feature is available.

Your choices

Do not submit homeowner information without authorization. A homeowner or representative may ask the SolarSearch account administrator to review or remove their saved workspace, subject to legal and operational retention requirements.
